A Message from the Patrol Commander

Police departments were originally created by municipalities to provide public service to it's citizens. The ability of a police department to carry out this public service mission depends most critically upon the capabilities of the uniformed officers of the patrol division.

In the City of Beverly the uniformed patrol officer is the central figure of the police department. It is the patrol officer who almost always responds whenever a citizen calls for any type of help or assistance.

Beverly Citizens should be assured that we are striving to provide the highest level of professionalism in our police officers. As Commander of Patrol Operations for the Beverly Police Department I realize that the patrol officer is often the only personal contact that a citizen will have with our public safety agency.

As the development of our web site evolves during the coming months, we will introduce to the citizenry the inner workings of our public safety department, and will focus on the patrol services that are readily available to everyone.

Sincerely,

Captain Alan E. Petersen
