MISSION STATEMENT: The School Resource Officer program is a collabrative effort by law enforcement officers, court personnel, educators, students, parents, and the community, in an effort to reduce crime, drug abuse, violence and provide a clean, safe, and secure learning environment for everyone.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The School Resource Officer (S.R.O.) is a uniformed, fully equipped, high visibility position assigned to the patrol division. The S.R.O. patrols school buildings on foot, and patrols school campuses in a marked police cruiser. The S.R.O investigates all crimes committed in the schools and on school grounds. The S.R.O. is aware of activity in neighborhoods that may negatively impact the peace, safety, and security of the schools, its students, and staff. The S.R.O. maintains strong open lines of communication with school administration at all levels, and the Police Departments various divisions, and acts as a direct point of contact for the Beverly Police in matters concerning public schools.
